Memory Kaleidoscope

Card game to deepen our understanding of each other

Memory Kaleidoscope started from the collaboration between Queen's Public Library and Design Dream Lab, a laboratory for humans interested in co-creating through empathy in New York. The artwork featured on the cards helped players surface big and small moments from their lives, taking the time to listen and discuss the memory shared. After a few months of prototyping and testing the game, winning the Aquent’s Design for Good grant allowed us to produce the game on a larger scale. The branding was created from parts of the images of the game, illustrating the way memories are put together from what sometimes seems to be a blur, to end up forming a meaningful story.

In a nutshell
- Winners of Aquent's Design for Good Grant
- 500 units produced for Christmas 2019
- Distributed in public libraries around New York City
